The Art of paper laser-cut

The Art of paper laser-cut

I have been fascinated by the Art of paper cut for many years and I’ve always dreamed that one day I would be able to use it in my own work. Well, dreams do come true !

When I started painting in my little Bondi Studio, I very quickly realised that the cutting process would become an issue as the artworks are so thin and delicate (I mean, imagine cutting 20 Boston Ferns by hand… no thanks!). But in my world, there are no problems : only solutions
>
I then did some further research on the matter and I discovered how much this technique is being used  : Louis Vuitton’s shopping windows, Chanel’s fashion show, Dior's exhibition, artists from all around the world… It's mind blowing !

Another great inspiration of mine is Henri Matisse who used to create his art by cutting paper and making compositions. He was known as the man who could “draw with scissors”. Quite cool if you ask me !

And as this step is incredibly important and requires the right skills, we decided to leave it to the professionals : all Charlie Green’s are laser cut in Sydney with care and love.
